Education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. SSUS is committed to ensuring that poor, vulnerable, and marginalized children, adolescents, and adults in Boda Upazila, Panchagarh have access to quality education, literacy programs, and skills training to build a better future.
Background & Purpose
SSUS has been running Non-Formal Primary Education programs since 1999 with support from BRAC, along with adolescent development, life skills education, and out-of-school children learning projects. Our focus is to eradicate illiteracy, prevent school dropouts, and empower disadvantaged youth, especially girls, through both formal and non-formal learning.
Objectives
Eradicate illiteracy in rural and marginalized communities
Provide basic and non-formal education for children out of school
Develop life skills, vocational skills, and leadership qualities among adolescents
Reduce early marriage and other harmful practices through education

Key Programs Under Education
Non-Formal Primary Education (NFPE): Educating children of poor and deprived families (BRAC, since 1999 – ongoing)
Adolescent Development Program: Social awareness, self-employment training, and prevention of early marriage (2002–2010, USCC-B/CIDA)
Life Skills Education for Adolescents: Employment-oriented training and social awareness (2007–2010, USCCB)
Out-of-School Children Learning (Second Chance Education): Bringing dropouts back into mainstream education (2021–2023, BNFE/GOB)
