Health is the foundation for a brighter future.

SSUS works to improve health and hygiene among poor, vulnerable, and marginalized communities in Boda Upazila, Panchagarh, and surrounding areas. Through maternal and child care, disease prevention, safe water access, and sanitation projects, we aim to build healthier communities and reduce preventable illnesses.

Background & Purpose

From 2008 onward, SSUS has implemented WATSAN-HRD, Mother & Child Care Program, and sanitary latrine installation projects. These initiatives address waterborne diseases, malnutrition, and lack of health awareness in rural and ethnic minority communities.


Objectives

  • Reduce waterborne diseases through safe water and sanitation

  • Improve maternal and child health services

  • Raise awareness about nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention

  • Provide basic healthcare support to remote communities

Key Programs Under Healthcare

  • WATSAN-HRD: Hygiene training and safe water supply to prevent waterborne diseases (NGO Forum for Public Health, 2008–2011)

  • Mother & Child Care Program: Reducing maternal & child mortality and malnutrition (2022–2025, Ministry of Women & Children Affairs)

  • Sanitary Latrine Installation: Public health improvement among ethnic groups without proper sanitation (2022–2025, Bangladesh NGO Foundation)

  • Health & Hygiene Awareness: Training and need-based services from Go-NGO service providers
